After studying for a career in the arts, I transitioned into technology in 1990. I found the complexity and the art inherent in technology irresistible as a web developer and systems professional in California statewide data centers, doing graphic and technical web design, application development, web server maintenance, structured testing and quality assurance. I trained staff, led strategy meetings, advised and monitored consultants on multimillion dollar statewide web projects. During those years, I was recognized by Governor Gray Davis for designing California's first live webcast (2000) and others that followed. I completed a project management certificate program at the UC Davis Extension (2002), won a writing scholarship at CSU Sacramento (2004), and finished a BA in Studio Art, minor in Psychology (2006).
In private business, I'm devoted to using my experience to make good people more authentically visible and accessible on the web, to help them succeed at whatever they do. I've served on nonprofit boards and as an entrepreneur myself, I understand the challenges of nonprofits and small businesses. My communication esthetic — optimizing the union of art, marketing and technology — drives the work of Clarity Web Studio.
